Google Voice Phonecalls
Google voice can be used to make phonecalls directly from your computer, without reference to your personal phone number.
Go to voice.google.com
Choose your new phone number (enter area code or city to find a local number)
Enter your existing phone number to verify
Enter the code texted to your existing number
This new number is now linked to your existing number, but you can now make calls from your new number without any reference to your existing number
Go to settings, scroll down
Either remove the linked phone number or
Turn off call forwarding (messages from the new number will be emailed to you)
Close settings and make a phone call directly from the web browser using your new number
